Cool It Now: Leuris’ G35

Leuris C. came to ZCG for some cooling upgrades and tuning on his G35 coupe. I love the stance on this G! It is a 5AT model so the transmission was treated with a Transgo shift kit:
Cooling upgrades included a transmission cooler and engine water cooling modification from a Nissan Pathfinder:

Icing on the cake was a UPREV tune from Rob with gains of 13hp/12tq at the wheels:

Nismo Z34 Wheels on a Z32!

I love seeing OEM wheel/tire packages on different cars and here is an example of one that really works. Jaime is the owner of this clean white ’95 and ZCG has taken care of it for a long time. The Z has
740cc injectors, JWT upgrades and now sports some 19″Nismo 370Z (LMZ5) wheels. I always thought 19s were too large for the Z32 body but Jaime’s car has got me hooked. The rear lip is perfect:

The only problem now is that the new wheels dwarf the stock brakes…we think it is time for a BBK 🙂

Apple of His Eye: Craig’s Z32TT

Craig P has been a ZCG customer since the beginning with his pretty ’95 300zx Twin Turbo. Craig is an Apple employee, and he even devised an ipod connection that works with the factory Z32 stereo. The Z has a stock engine with bolt-ons including Stillen intercoolers, dual BB 530 turbos, and a full 3″ exhaust. This 300 never had problems going fast…it puts out just over 400hp/400tq at the wheels:

Like most Z32 owners eventually footwork and braking need to be addressed with increased power. At the end of winter Craig found himself with bald tires in need of replacement…what better time to upgrade!
Red Stoptech 332mmm brakes were installed up front:

The stock rear calipers were color matched ZCG-style to the Stoptechs. Slotted rear rotors, 309 pads, and stainless braided lines throughout:

Beautiful 18″ SSR SP1 wheels frame the Stoptech’s nicely! These are black spoke/polished lips with 245/40 front and 265/35 rear Pole-Position S-04 tires.

Wheels/tires are always a great upgrade:

8 Years of ZCarGarage!

by Alvin G @ 3:03 pm on April 7, 2012

As we celebrate the 8th anniversary of ZCarGarage I want to take a moment on behalf of myself and the staff to say Thank You! When I started this business 8 years ago I never imagined how time would go by so quickly.
Over the years we have built some really cool rides and met some great people. At the end of the day ZCG isn’t just a place that repairs and customizes Nissans it is also a way to share our love for Japanese sport cars.
You dream it and we help build it. Build it to drive it!!! Not a lot of trailer queens out of this shop.
I am ready for the next 8 years with many exciting cars and good times ahead. Please remember it is you the customer that helps us raise the bar and we wouldn’t be here without you.

Thanks for the support!
Long Live the Z

Enjoy a few pictures from 8 years back when the shop was just getting started:

Datsun Roadster Fun Run Pictures…4/1/12

by Alvin G @ 10:30 pm on April 1, 2012

Today I joined 4 other Datsun roadsters today for a drive out to the coast. We were lucky to catch a break from the rain and it was a gorgeous day! I met with fellow owners Mike and Ken in downtown Saratoga. You might remember Ken’s wicked supercharged KA powered roadster we featured earlier this year. We started driving up Big Basin Way to Skyline and it was brisk and traffic free. Here is a short video of the run up Skyline to Alice’s Restaurant:

Alice’s was crowded. We were not the only folks jonesing to get outside and enjoy the break from rainy weather. I spotted this modified Z33 with a very cool plate that read “FAIRL8Y”.  We met up with 2 more roadster owners, Rich and Corey, talked for awhile and headed down 84 towards San Gregorio.

This is a very picture-esque road that winds its way from the Santa Cruz Mtns. …[read more]
