Last weekend Nissan officially returned to international sports car racing with its LMP2 entry in the 12 Hours of Sebring. Driver Lucas Ordonez helped grab a second-place class finish behind the wheel of the VK series V8-powered machine.
Nissan’s last win at Sebring was in 1994 and the the team has a busy schedule for 2011 including the 24 Hours of LeMans, the 1,000 km Spa-Francorshamps, and the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta.

Wekfest is back! Weksos Industries will have the 3rd SF WEKFEST this Sunday 2/20 in the heart of downtown San Francisco, Fort Mason Festival and Herbst Pavilions. There will be hundreds of modified cars from top tuners/crews. We will be at the show keeping an eye out for some Z’s, G’s and maybe a few Datsuns. So come out and see the cleanest rides in the Bay Area, don’t miss it!

The 24th Annual Solvang Datsun Roadster Classic will be held in beautiful downtown Solvang CA. This year we will once again be showcasing some of the most beautiful and rare Datsun Roadsters around, along with classic JDM’s from the 60’s and 70’s. We plan on having as usual, attendees from around the world, along with Classic Datsun Rides from across the country! Admission is free to the general public. We visited the Mustang Ranch this morning to listen to Pete Brock and check out some cool vintage Fords. A handful of Datsun enthusiasts amongst high dollar Cobra owners all shared the same enthusiasm and wonder as Pete Brock told stories and described his history with the Daytona coupe and Shelby team. Brock also spent some time introducing us to his latest Superformance Coupe, complete with a fuel-injected GM-supplied LS7 drivetrain.

The parking lot was a car show with plenty of clean Mustangs, replica and continuation Cobras. For us Datsun-nuts it was also a pleasant surprise to see a ultra-low mile 1-owner 280z on the dyno inside the shop! Yes, even Ford fans love Z’s 🙂

Pete Brock will be speaking at the Mustang Ranch shop in this Saturday, Jan 29th, Santa Clara, CA 10am-3pm. Stop by the shop and listen to the Datsun Legend! Here is a newsletter from Pete and Gayle with details about Saturday’s event:

“This Sat (the 29th), I’ll be speaking at the Mustang Ranch shop in Santa Clara in the Northern California area (just west of San Jose).
This event is open to all, starting at 10am and ending at 3pm. My SPC073 will be on display and I’ll be giving a “tour” of its new LS7.Starting early afternoon I’ll be speaking on my life in design, focusing on aerodynamics and how I applied these concepts to the Daytona Coupes.

Time is set aside for autographing items and Gayle will be bringing some posters, George Bartell art and archive photo reprints with us if you’d like to have any of them autographed in person (some of them will be the new photos she’s just posted on the website).

We won’t be bringing a lot so its first come first serve or contact Gayle by this Tue afternoon to reserve/request a piece. We won’t be bringing any shirts down due to space constraints but if there is something you want us to bring, let Gayle know before Tue afternoon and she’ll pack it up.
