Alan E is a long time customer of Z Car Garage and started his boost habit in 2009 by Vortech supercharging his G35. It wasn’t long though before he realized that stopping this relatively heavy, 500hp beast with tired stock brakes may not be the best idea.  As you readers may notice, we have installed several  OEM 370z/G37 Akebono-based brake kits on older chassis Z/G cars. This setup is a great alternative to the existing BBK players out there like Stoptech/Brembo/AP, etc.

Larger than stock, vented Stoptech rotors help shed heat for repeated fade-free braking. Stoptech vs OEM G35 rotors (rear) shown:

Better braking capacity to reign in that grin-inducing power plus good looks!

It’s sedan week! Brandon M’s G35 visited us early 2013 for suspension upgrades and he came back for a few more mods. We installed a Stoptech Sport Kit which is a very smart and affordable way to increase braking capacity:

Brandon is now running G35 coupe 19″ wheels and they look fantastic coupled with the lowered ride height!

Rob UPREV re-tuned the G with the addition of a Trans-Go shift kit. Note the increased hp/tq throughout entire rev range with peak gains of 10hp/8tq to the wheels:

The Right Tune: Danny’s Vortech G35

Filed under: Featured Cars and Projects,g35,Performance
by Alvin G @ 11:18 pm on October 24, 2013

It really makes our day when a customer is satisfied with the work we perform on their car. Danny K came to Z Car Garage a few months back to sort out his Vortech supercharged G35 Coupe. It was not running well so we diagnosed a few problems and UPREV tuned it. Here is Danny’s impression…

“Rob Fuller and his team are the BEST in the game. His team is so passionate in what they do. I am going to be honest, I should have came to this shop to begin with. I had my car modified with a Vortech Supercharger, fuel injectors and fuel pump. After the install I also had another shop tune my car with Uprev. It did not run well at all. Mind you,  I have been driving it for 9 months before bringing it to Rob’s team. I asked him to tune my car and naturally he agreed to it.  It took Rob’s team to figure out what was wrong in minutes.  He rearranged his schedule to accommodate the correction. I have to admit, Rob and his team are the best mechanics in NorCal. You guys are probably reading, why I didn’t go to them first, well they are 3 hours from where I live and there isn’t a moment I regretted going to the closer shop and not making the extra drive to going to the best. If UPREV sends you to a shop other than Z Car Garage I tell you to think again and make the extra effort to make this shop your first choice…”

The G now runs as it should and the dyno reveals a healthy drivetrain. With 398hp/331tq to the wheels we are confident that Danny is happier now:) If you are interested in UPREV tuning your NA or FI Nissan/Infiniti please consider visiting ZCG for the right tune!
