Last week we had a couple of R35s come through the shop. Well one is actually just coming back from William’s Autobody where is was getting repaired after a small accident. The other one actually belongs to a friend of William. I have a feeling that this car is on it’s way to becoming a nicely modded GT-R.
When it came in it already had the VOLK TE37 G2 wheels on it and it was coming to use to give it the stance that all GT-Rs deserve. This is going to be achieved by using a set of Swift Sport Springs. These springs are designed to keep the ride quality firm without being race car harsh, improved handling and looks are the goal here. By the look and feel of things they worked out perfectly.
We have chronicled the build of this 280zx for as long as ZCarBlog has been around and the time finally came to deliver the car to it’s owners last Wednesday in the LA area. The only reason this car made the delivery deadline is the bullet-proof work ethic that Rob and Fred have. They had spent countless late nights and weekends to make sure the car was up to ZCG standards in every way. All Z enthusiasts owe these two men a pat on the back for their commitment to the Z.
Enough sucking up, here are the pictures that our good friend Chad over at PhotoShootMyCar.com took last week. Chad also owns the R33 GT-R that we covered a little while ago. Great guy, great car, great photos. Thanks Chad!
Just to remind all of you about the event THIS WEEKEND!!!!
Update: There is a sign up sheet of sorts on MY350Z.com to get a semi-accurate headcount as to who is attending. Again the great folks at ZONC insist that you bring cash with you if you want to have lunch at Poppy Hill (restaurant) and for the gate entry fee for 17 Mile Drive!! See the updated flyer below for all of the info.
ZONC will be hosting the annual Monterey/Pebble Beach Meet and Ride this year on Saturday, September 19th. As usual we will be meeting at MY Nissan in Salinas, CA to gather most of the group before heading into 17 Mile Drive and then to lunch at Poppy Hill in Pebble Beach.
The event itself is free but there is a charge for the lunch if you wish to attend, there is also as $10 fee to drive on 17 Mile Drive itself but this is included if you decide to buy lunch. See the ZONC flyer below for further clarification. This is a really fun drive to make as you see tons of Zs and Gs make their way through some of the nicest beachfront neighborhoods on the west coast.
There will be more info to come in the next week or so as we set up a caravan from Z Car Garage to MY Nissan in Salinas so stay tuned for that.
Make sure you check out the post from last year to see all the photos we took.

I found this while scanning around on YouTube today. I absolutely love the IMSA GTP series and especially the Nissan #83 and #84 cars. If you have an extra $650K burning a hole in your pocket I can point you in the direction of one of the most rare #83 cars that happens to be for sale. The engine in these cars was based on the Z31 and Z32 300ZX engines so yes this video is relevant here on ZCarBlog. Hahaha.
Side note: I’m actually named after Elliot Forbes-Robinson (EFR) who raced for Nissan in these GTP monsters. Kinda cool. ENJOY!!!
