Ken P is a long time customer and he absolutely loves the timeless design of his clean Z32. At ZCG we certainly specialize in improving the performance of Z cars but we also love to keep your Z in tip-top shape…this means performing routine maintenance. Ken’s NA Z32 got full timing belt services:

He can now continue to admire and enjoy the classic lines of his Z!  What can we do for yours so you can keep enjoying the ride?

When we last checked in with Enrique’s Project ’67 Camaro stunning paint and body work was completed:

The slick F-body then received major chassis developments with choice components from Detroit Speed Engineering(DSE). Up front, an entire DSE front clip was installed. This all-inclusive setup houses beefy upper/lower tubular control arms, coil-over shocks, and the power rack and pinion steering.

The clip is a complete bolt-on affair that replaces the stock subframe… modern sportscar handling here we come!

Massive 14″ rotors squeezed by BAER 6-piston brakes handle stopping duties:

On to the rear!   The  stock, leaf spring suspension was upgraded to a full 4-link setup with coil-overs and Panhard bar. The rear axle is a Ford 9″ with limited slip:

DSE’s popular mini-tub kit allows massive 335-width tires to fit under stock rear fenders:

Stay tuned as Enrique’s Camaro gets a drivetrain and interior!

More Upgrades For Ken’s Z32 TT

Our last report on Ken’s 300zx included suspension and extensive power upgrades. Ken came back to ZCG for tuning and installation of:

-Ash-Spec inlet pipes
-BDE motor mounts
-Quaife LSD and 4.10 Leader Gears

Here are the new Ash-spec inlet pipes compared to the old:

You can thank your lucky Z stars for BDE low-profile Z32 motor mounts, a smart alternative to OEM that allows more clearance larger for intakes:

A set of 4.10 Leader gears along with a Quaife LSD were installed:

Ken tells us that he feels a noticeable increase in acceleration and traction from the rear end mods. With Rob’s tuning the Z now puts down 418hp/396tq to the wheels!  Peak numbers may be nice but check out the overall gains…a solid 40-50 hp/tq improvement from 3500rpm to 6500rpm:

Enjoy the Ride Ken!

Foxy 5.0: Kevin’s ’92 Mustang

by Alvin G @ 11:47 pm on April 16, 2013

Kevin B has been with Z Car Garage for a long time and owns a pristine Cherry Red Pearl Z32TT(to be featured soon). Kevin also owns this surprisingly clean Fox-body Mustang GT and wanted it to be as fast as his Z.

He came to us for a complete Vortech supercharger install to wakeup the venerable 5.0L V8. Here are some of the goodies:

The Vortech kit designed for Fox-body Mustangs has been around for years and still has great fit/finish. Here are some before/after shots:

A closer look at the black finished supercharger and plumbing:

We ran a baseline dyno before the blower install and the mighty 302 put down a very healthy 199hp/264tq at the wheels. Not bad for its at-the-time crank rating of 225hp/275tq.  With the Vortech this ordinary 5.0 becomes a monster with 328hp/361tq to the wheels! Check out the significant gains especially throughout the entire rev range: well over 300lb of tq is available from 2,500 to 5,500 rpm:

So which is faster Kevin, the ‘Stang or the Z? Tune in next time as we feature Kevin’s pretty 300zx and think twice before you roll that “slow 5.0” sitting next to you at the stoplight 🙂
