Stillen Supercharged Nismo 350z

Hideki K brought his ultra-nice Nismo Z33 in for a full Stillen supercharger installation. Unfortunately Stillen did not make a kit specifically for the Nismo edition Z so we purchased a Stillen kit designed for the standard HR motor and made it work for Hideki!
Here are the goodies:

A few shots of the install:

 From NA to Forced Induction:

On the dyno the Nismo put down 282hp/246tq and the Stillen kit bumped those figures up to 370hp/272tq to the wheels:

Rob’s tuning yielded significant gains of 22hp/13tq for a grand total of 392hp/285tq to the wheels!

Enjoy the Ride Hideki!

Ashley’s ZR…Updated Pictures

We featured Ashley’s Z33 Roadster back in November ’10 when her Z-obssessed husband brought the car in for Tein springs and dual-JWT pop chargers. The car still sports the same tasteful drop but now sits on a mint set of 19″ Volk Progressive Spoke wheels(discontinued) in gloss black with polished lips.

ZCG also installed that neat “Z” emblem which doubles as a LED side marker, here is a short video of it in action:

Ashley’s husband is none other than Scott S, fearless driver of the GreenMachine. Scott also owns one of the baddest Twin-Turbo Z32s on the planet. I will do a feature on his car soon, but here is a teaser of his latest set of wheels on the 300:

Z Are Family (Part2)

Here is another amazing example of Motorsports bringing a family together. Rob’s wife Astrid had a birthday coming up so it was time for their Daytona Blue ’07 350z ‘vert to get some B-day love. Living off a mountain road Rob and Astrid needed a car that could be both comfortable and sporty. The couple have had their fair share of track days and Astrid has driven in the 24hrs of Lemons race while Rob has a G37 Sport coupe has his daily driver.

The Z came to ZCG for a 30k service with some upgrades to add some excitement to Astrid’s commute. Like most upgrade sessions at ZCG we started with a baseline dyno to see what we were working with:

Once the services and baseline was complete we installed a set of the Injen intakes and a Bassani exhaust system. These 2 bolt-ons gained 20hp/13tq!

Rob and Astrid wanted this Z to be able to handle any curvy road and  the occasional Track Day. A combination of braking and suspension upgrades were installed, starting with TEIN Flex coilovers with EDFC control unit. This allows the driver to pick from 16 levels of dampening force:

A nice compliment to the coilovers is the adjustable sway bar set from Hotchkis:

We installed our favorite brake pads for any sport driving, the STOPTECH 309 in addition to a full brake and clutch bleed with Motul 600.
With the power mods, brakes, and suspension Rob and Astrid should be able to enjoy a track day or drive on any curvy road with a smile on their faces:)

Z Are Family (Part1)

You know its true love when your wife drives a Z . Ashley took a trip out of town and while she was gone her sneaky Z-obsessed husband dropped her ’07 350z off for some ZCG love. A family that Zs together stays together.  First item on the list for this visit was a baseline dyno to see what we were working with, then a quick install of dual JWT Pop Charger air intakes:

The VQ35HR engine responds well to minor bolt-ons and the addition of JWT intakes resulted in an impressive gain of 17hp/13tq! Plus they look great and sound heavenly when Ashley leans on the loud pedal.

Ashley’s Z sports a set of SSR GT3 wheels with stock ride height. Every Z can benefit from a little lowering, especially with aftermarket wheels/tires.  TEIN S-tech springs were called upon to give the Z a mild drop. Pics coming soon!

The last detail was a set of LED side markers that are both stylish and functional for when Ashley needs to switch lanes and pass the slower traffic 🙂

Stay tuned for Part 2 of “Z Are Family”

Wed. Night Drags Report… 10/20/10

by Alvin G @ 5:59 pm on October 26, 2010

Looks like everyone had a good time last Wednesday night at the fun drags and here is a report from Scott Smith:

We were four Zs strong and also had a bada$$ 510 of Matt’s. Rob Fuller set the bar in Chuck Gross’s TT 350Z with a get-you-kicked-out best-run of 11.452 @ 119.51mph. A roll bar, side bars, and fireproof jacket are required for runs under 11.5s. John Tacchi ran a fast 12.883 @ 116.57mph in his upgraded Z32TT, and made it through two rounds of eliminations, and lost with an uncharacteristic 14.4 run with on a 13.0 dial in. He must have spun the tires off the line and lost time, as the temps were getting cooler. Walt Leonard broke out on his first-and-best timed run with a 12.914 @ 104.62mph compared to his dial of 13.07(black s/c’d Z above). Scott Smith ran his wife’s 2007 350Z Roadster, and was also eliminated in the first round. He dialed 14.60 and ran 14.61, but was beat at the tree. His best of the night was 14.477@98.51mph. Matt Gardella ran his turbo 510 hard, but also lost in the first round. He dialed in 13.00 and ran 13.538 @ 95.89mph, but his best of the night was 13.126 @ 103.62mph.

Stay tuned for an announcement of the final ZCG drag racing series date in November!

Matt’s 510(note faster dial-in than the STi or M3 :)) and John’s Z32TT

Here are a few short video clips of Matt’s 510 and Rob piloting Chuck’s TT 350z:
